ASDMA has taken up two projects for implementation in Assam under the collaboration entered with Earth Institute, Columbia University. The projects are:
- ‘Disaster Risk Reduction, including Climate Change Adaptation of Guwahati in the Context of Dynamic Growth’ and
- ‘Water Resource and Flood & Erosion Risk Mitigation Planning in Assam’

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in its endeavour to build a disaster resilient Assam has been working with leading organisations and experts in different areas of Disaster Management. One such organisation with which ASDMA has associated is the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA).
ASDMA signed anMoU with GSDMA on 18th January 2012 for entering into possible collaboration considering some critical areas of disaster management with special focus on development of safer communication strategy, management of Control Rooms, development of disaster resource network, conduct of seismological research, planning and implementation of various programmes for addressing disaster concerns in the State.
