Incident Response System (IRS) in the State of Assam The Incident Response System or IRS broadly refers to a management tool to be used during various disasters whether natural or manmade. The system is flexible and adaptable to suit any scale of emergency/incidents as it can be either scaled up or down as per the requirement. The main intention in using IRS is to transform the confusion during the early stage of an emergency situation into a well-managed response process.
The Government of Assam has accepted Incident Response System (IRS) as the preferred disaster response system in the State. For implementation of the same, the State level and District level Incident Response Team (IRT) has been notified.
